The Indonesian national revolution, or Indonesian war of independence, is an armed conflict and a diplomatic struggle between Indonesia and the Netherlands, as well as a social revolution. It took place from 1945 to 1949, between the declaration of independence of Indonesia and the recognition of Indonesia as an independent state by the Netherlands, December 27, 1949. The Indonesians call these four years of armed conflict "Revolusi".
