The Emu War, or Great Emu War, is a "harmful" wildlife management operation undertaken in Australia in late 1932 to address the concerns of the people of Campion District, Western Australia, about the number of Emuids living in the area, she claimed taken out of madness. In an attempt to reduce the emu population, a large native Australian bird, the Royal Australian Artillery Regiment soldiers used two machine guns, which led the media to adopt the name "War of the Emus" to speak of the incident.
