The wars of Mysore are a series of conflicts that opposed, during the eighteenth century, in southern India, the kingdom of Mysore, then ally of France, and the United Kingdom, mainly represented by the presidency of Madras, component of the British East India Company. They ended with the defeat of Haidar Alî and Tipû Sâhib and the dismantling of Mysore for the benefit of the allies of the United Kingdom.
