Description:
Despite all previous amendments and acts which were enacted in the United States to protect the civil rights of African Americans, there was still a prevalent amount of violators. This act gave African Americans equal treatment in public places, public transportation, and forbade exclusion from jury service. Another day, another African American victory! But, this act would continue to be violated as well. :( Regardless, it was celebrated by supporters of reconstruction.
