nov 16, 1907 - Oklahoma Territory is Created Most of all, a large majority of the people of the Territory of Oklahoma simply wanted the creation of a state that would enable them to mold their future. The Oklahoma Enabling Act of 1906 allowed the writing of the constitution. The territorial period officially ended on statehood day, November 16, 1907.
