Causes: Until 1836 when Mexico declared its independence, Texas had been a part of Mexico.
HI:In the long run, the united States successfully earned a huge chunk of land and. Before the annexation, there were multiple worries coming from the Northern parts of the U.S.. The south, on the other hand was very pleased with the idea that a new slave state could potentially join them. Due to the U.S. taking away land from Mexico, this led to the Mexican-American War in 1846.
