9h 27min, mar 27, 1802 y - The end of the Second Coalition war
Description:
After roughly 4 years of fighting against France; Austria, Britain, Portugal, The Kingdom of Naples, and the Ottoman Empire finally surrender and sign a peace treaty with France which gave France a stepping stone to go to war again. France gained Tuscany and all the area east of the Rhine that France laid claim to but for this they had to relinquish all claims east of the Rhine. Portugal had to cede the province of Olivença and pay the French 20 million franks. Finally in the treaty of Amiens, which marked the end of the war, forced Britain to recognize the French republic and give up all claims on the old Kingdom of France. This paved the way for the ensuing Napoleonic Wars that marked a very short rise and fall of France.
