may 10, 1773 - Boston Tea Party
Description:
The Boston Tea Party took place on May 10,1773.
The Boston Tea Party preceded the Townshend Acts and caused it to occur. This "party" resulted in the dumping of 300 chests of tea into Boston harbor.
What caused this resistance to happen was the tax on tea along with other taxes in order to aid in British debt from the French and Indian War.
The historical impact of the Boston Tea Party was that it became an iconic symbol of American resistance to the overwhelming British control and influenced many more to rebel as well.
