Description:
A pamphlet that communicated Paine's desire for American independence from the British monarchy. He Defined society and government. He built on Locke's ideas of the natural rights: life, liberty, and property. He argued that a Republican-Democracy is the only suitable governent, because all men are created equal, therefore there can be no kings.
He ended his pamphlet urging colonists to declare independence from England. Common Sense was largely the reason for the American Revolution.
