Description:

Description - Serves to protect the rights of citizens and limit government power. Separated the government into 3 branches.

Causes - Some citizens and lawmakers were afraid that the new form of government would be similar to Britain and lack representation of the people. To fix this the Bill of Rights was made to protect their individual liberties.

Historical impact - Was a fundamental component of America's values. Set a foundation for a free country where people can exercise their own liberties.
