Description:
Description - Mexico was mad the Texas was being annexed into the U.S. so they went to war. Even though this was the U.S.'s first war primarily fought on foreign soil they still won. Ended with the signing or the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo.
Causes - The American states in the south wanted to gain another slave state to increase their political power against the free states.
Historical impact - The United States beat Mexico and gained the territories that would later become Arizona, California, New Mexico, Nevada, and Utah.
