feb 1, 2012 - The SFA writes to Ken Olverman seeking proof
of the statements in the submission relating to
the tax liabilities, stating “the Licensing
Committee will need to receive written
correspondence to be satisfied that the
amount is a genuine legal dispute”
Description:
Email chain between Ken Olverman and Craig
Whyte regarding outstanding tax and player
debts show that at this point Rangers were
preparing for the possibility of a UEFA licence
application for the 2012/13 season.
Claims the DOS liability had been appealed to Keith Sharp at the SFA which is untrue - only the interest and penalties were appealed
The SFA’s request for proof of a stated position appears to be a fair one and consistent with UEFA requirements, but it’s a request for supporting documentation that was seemingly lacking throughout the previous licensing.
