Description:
An Act signed by President Andrew Jackson which gave the federal government the power to exchange Native land west of the Mississippi for land west to reservations.
Causes
1) President Andrew Jackson wanted to rid Native
Americans from lands in the East and South to gain
more land.
Impact
1) Led to the event known as the Trail of Tears which
killed many Native Americans.
2) Sent all the Native tribes west of the Mississippi to the
west.
