jul 4, 1776 - Declaration of Independence
Description:
After many of the colonies voted in favor of independence over continued British exploitation, the Declaration of Independence was adopted by the Second Continental Congress meeting at the Pennsylvania State House in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
This resulted in a shift in the Revolutionary War's ideals, as American soldiers were now officially fighting for their freedom from Britain. It also stated the inalienable rights that everyone is born with.
