apr 14, 1865 - Assassination of Lincoln
Description:
The assassination of President Abraham Lincoln took place on April of 1865 at Ford's Theatre.
Lincoln's death took place after the Civil War concluded and at Ford's Theatre by John Wilkes Boothe and others.
The reason behind Lincoln's assassination was that many Southerners were upset with the outcome of the war, especially as they viewed Lincoln as a tyrant and it acclimated to a point where Boothe acted on his southern pride by planning to kill Lincoln.
The historical impact of this event was that Lincoln was the first president to be assassinated along with that his Vice President Andrew Johnson to live up to the works that Lincoln did during this time of Reconstruction.
