Description:

Description: A line created by the British government to alleviate relations with natives after the French and Indian War and stated that Americans were not permitted to pass the Appalachian Mountains.

Causes: After the French and Indian War, Britain needed to tackle on postwar debt and therefore focused attention back on America(no more salutary neglect).

Historical Impact: The tension between the colonies(in America) and the mother country(Great Britain) would lead to an eventual rift leading to independence.
