jul 2, 1964 - Civil Rights Act
Description:
The Civil Rights Act of 1964 outlawed any discrimination based on race, sex, color, nationality, or religion, as well as outlawed public segregation. While this was a huge milestone in achieving racial equality, racism and violence against African-Americans was still alive and prevalent. Even though African-Americans were legally equal, much work still had to be done so ensure that they had the ability to thrive in society.
