mar 7, 1600 BC - Moses & Exodus

Description:

When Moses was born Jews were slaves in Egypt. The pharaoh was afraid of them because he thought that they might take over his country. He ordered that all Hebrew baby boys be killed at birth. To save Moses his mother made a plan. She hid him in a basket by the side of the Nile River. Moses’ sister watched him over until Pharaoh's daughter came to the river to wash. There she found Moses in a basket. Moses grew up as an egyptian prince and never knew that he was jewish. One day he found out that he was jewish. He lost his temper and killed an Egyptian that who had beaten a Hebrew slave to death. He had to run away to another land. There god spoke to moses using a burning bush. He told Moses that he should go back and save the Hebrews from slavery. So Moses went to the pharaoh and asked him to let the Hebrews free. But the pharaoh did not want to lose all his slaves. He would not let them go, because they worked on his grand buildings. Awful things began to happen. There were 10 plagues. Before each one, Moses has warned Pharaoh what would happen. When Pharaoh’s son died because of the plague, Pharaoh finally allowed Moses to take the jews. Later the pharaoh changed his mind and sent an army to take the jews back. When they reached the ocean god helped moses to create a dry path so that the jews could pass. When they saw the army that was heading towards them they ran. When they reached land the water closed on the Pharaoh army but left the pharaoh alive.
