John Rolfe harvested tobacco in America in 1612. It immediately flourished in America and became an excellent cash crop which became popular in exports.
Cause: Settlers were in need of food and had to make money through business.
Effect: Southern North America was able to create profit through their suitable climate to grow tobacco.
Led to a more wealthy Southern America
