Description:
Indentured Servants were those who work for a number of years in order to be granted free and safe passage to North America. Dutch traders brought these indentured servants here in 1619 and were later used as Slaves due to the costly maintenance of indentured servants.
Impact - Resulted in the wide market of Slaves and Slave trade that helped with harvesting cash crops such as Tobacco and Cotton. The moral issue of slavery was only questioned during the Civil War against the Confederates.
