1h 11min, nov 6, 1860 y - 1860---- Abraham Lincoln was elected

Description:

Abraham Lincoln had a very anti-slavery outlook for his country. This would have made Southerners not want to elect him, because most of them were pro-slavery. Lincoln was also against secession. In December of 1860, South Carolina seceded from the Union. After them about 6 more states also seceded in 1861. This contributed to the Civil War because it caused a lot of tension between the North and South. The South wanted to stay pro-slavery with not other different views. While the North wanted to be free-soil.
