During the Constitutional Convention, colonial assemblies gathered to discuss how the Constitution should be written. James Madison, who is considered the “Father of the Constitution,” led the convention. The Constitution was drafted in 1789 and implemented a set of principles on how a state or other organization is governed.
Causes
After the proved weakness of the Articles of Confederation, Congress needed to create a stronger Constitution to give more powers to the government.
Impact
The Constitution laid the basis for America
and is the main rule that is used today.
