Description:

Cubans didn’t like Platt Amendment, kept Cuba under US control; Cubans forced to agree not to sign treaties that might compromise indie, not to take on too much debt; Had to agree to US restoring order if they see fit; Cubans promised to sell/lease coaling or naval stations to US (included Guantanamo); US repealed it (1934) tho US still occupies 28k acre Cuban beachhead at Guantanamo under agreement that can only be revoked by consent of both parties
