nov 9, 1989 - Fall of Berlin Wall
Description:
Constructed overnight (not all of it, of course, just the basic wire fence to block people out at first), the Berlin wall was standing for over 40 years. When it was taken down, it was a very significant moment as it meant that Germany was once again united. A clear difference between the US side and the communist USSR side was seen, another reminder to why communism needed to be out for long and for good. It was a huge lesson to the whole world to see and not ever repeat again.
