may 13, 1607 - Jamestown Settlement

Description:

On May 13, 1607, a group of young (and not so young) men docked their ship in what would become Virginia territory in the future. It was the first permanent settlement in the Americas, and, although not very successful in the long run, it was crucial - it can easily be considered the first step towards united, liberal country that US is today.
