dec 3, 1909 - Charles-Jules-Henri Nicolle Makes Connection Between Typhus and Lice

Description:

Made director of the Pasteur Institue in 1902, Nicolle made note of the fact that patients in the hospital were sick and transmitting it to others yet managing to not spread it as much when they left. He made the connection that it may have to do with their clothes and bodies being cleaned and he proved the typhus and body lice connection after doing experiments with monkeys.
