jan 1, 1534 - Henry VIII (1534)
Description:
Henry VIII was one of the most powerful and influential new monarchs of the early modern era who did much to shape England and the entirety of Europe. He is most known for his obsessions, whether that be to have a male heir, which eventually led him to break his country from the Catholic church, or his acute desire to capture more French territory, as he had never truly given up his claim to that throne. Overall, he was the most important of the Tudors up to that point, surpassing his father, Henry VII, because Henry VII did not make as much commotion on the international stage as he primarily solidified England in terms of its administrations and cohesiveness (through ending the War of the Roses among other things). (Four Princes)
