jan 1, 1350 - Francesco Petrarch (1350)
Description:
Petrarch was the first, and perhaps the most influential humanist writer during the Italian Renaissance. He used writing more subtly than other writers of his age, not using it merely to convey ideas but using expressions and literary devices that are more common of our age than his to craft his works. Petrarch is greater than all his contemporaries, such as Boccaccio, because he was more prolific in his writings and more influential in his humanist ideas. (Palmer 63)
