jan 1, 1550 - Mercantilism (1550)

Description:

The economic ideal that was pursued by many rulers in the 16th and 17th centuries. It was driven from the need of having more gold rushing into each country and was attempted by driving up tariffs and trying to produce and export finished products. (Palmer 113) This ideal is more important than the putting out system because it drove many different trade deals and economic decisions throughout the entire world.
