Description:

Touched off the Protestant Reformation from Wittenburg Germany. Originally a monk but came to the ideas of justification through faith by focusing on the scriptures. Excommunicated, but still a voice with the printing press; Luther has much more importance than those such as John of Leyden due to his much less violent approach to change.
