The foundation of the Jesuits aided in the resistance of the Protestant Reformation. The Jesuits stopped the spread of Protestantism in Poland and southern Germany. The Jesuits had three main missions which included founding school throughout Europe that taught classical studies and theology, converting people to Catholicism and finally stopping the spread of Protestantism. The Jesuits used missionaries to spread the beliefs of Catholicism and stop the spread.
