apr 30, 1524 - Peasants' Revolt
Description:
The Peasants’ Revolt was significant because it eventually caused Protestantism to be rejected in parts of Germany. Martin Luther had sparked the revolt with his writings, but was horrified by the revolt and told the German princes to show no mercy. Peasants who revolted to end serfdom in Germany were brutally crushed by the German princes and turned their backs on Luther’s religious leadership.
