Just 4 years after the release of the television, distributed nationally and located in millions of households worldwide, psychiatrist and author of "The Seduction of the Innocent" (1954) Frederic Wertham criticizes the underlying effects of TV when it comes to younger audiences. The content, including animation (mainly comic's, specifically), was often showing violence and crude behavior.
He believed the material to be harmful to a child's development and was known as a "censor-crazy lunatic", even having some influence with the Hays Code was at being constructed, which was for both film and animation programs.
