dec 15, 1966 - Death of Walt Disney
Description:
Walt Disney, the founder of Walt Disney Studios, passes due to Lung Cancer at 65. Disney's brother, Roy, took over the Disney World Project (amusement park) renaming the park Walt Disney World in his late brother's honor. Roy passes in late 1971 and leaves the company to be led by a team, which included Card Walker, Donn Tatum, and Ron Miller- all originally trained by the Disney brothers.
For a long period, the Disney empire was at a standstill as the studio tried to remain true to Disney's vision.
