Founded as the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio in 1923 and incorporated as Walt Disney Productions in 1929. A New York distributor, M.J. Winkler contracted to release the Alice Comedies, and this date became the formal beginning of The Walt Disney Company. Through the years, it has produced many famous and influential characters, such as: Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck, Pluto, Daisy Duck, and more.
