jan 1, 1631 - Shah Jahan orders construction of Taj Mahal: 1631
Description:
Shah Jahan was a Mughal Ruler. He assassinated all of his possible rivals and had zero toleration for competition. His only two passions were beautiful buildings and Mumtaz Mahal, his wife. His marriage was arranged, but Jahan ended up falling deep in love with the Persian Princess. Mumtaz Mahal died while giving birth to her 14th child with Shah Jahan. To honor his beloved wife he ordered the construction of something, “as beautiful as she was beautiful.” The memorial is called the Taj Mahal and is known as one of the most beautiful buildings in the world.
