Description:
Kinemacolor, invented in the UK, was the first successful color motion picture process, used commercially from 1908 to 1914. The first color film that contained animation is "In Gollywog Land" produced in 1912 in the UK by the Natural Colour Kinematograph Company in Kinemacolor, directed by F. Martin Thorton and W.R. Booth. The Golliwog is a black fictional character created originally by Florence Kate Upton and became a hit amongst children for its mistakingly scary yet friendly demeanor.
