jan 1, 1825 - Erie Canal
Description:
One of the first canal systems within the United States that connected Albany, Syracuse and Buffalo and was used to allow passage to boats and connect the Atlantic Ocean to the Great Lakes. A canal is a manmade waterway. A lot of resources were expended to construct it and clear land for it, which, as a result, displaced wildlife.
