Description:

In 1868, the Church of San Domenico (Cremona, Italy), which housed the tomb of Stradivari, was being demolished. According to the reference: “One morning, before everyone’s eyes, there appeared a stranger from Milan who fell upon the tomb like a predatory hawk, gathered up a skull and pronounced a name: Stradivari. Then he departed unmolested [with the skull] just as he had come.”
