feb 7, 1829 - 19th Century Black Religion
Description:
The Oblate Sisters of Providence, the first permanent order of black Catholic nuns, is founded in Baltimore, Maryland. This was big so now they were able to practice their religious ideas freely. This goes with American identity because this is about culture and race after they were free, they were able to express their feelings though plays or religion and other things as well.
