Description:

This tariff passed allowed for the protection of american goods by allowing heavy taxes to be imposed on any foreign goods. Allowed U.S to compete with foreign nation's goods. This event was critical because it took place after the War of 1812, and this needed to be passed for The American Industry to be protected from other foreign nations. Since it allowed for competition, the American industry was able to grow economically, allowing it to become a much more stronger nation in general.
