William T. Sherman was a general for the Union army during the civil war. His most famous military action was probably Sherman's March to the Sea. In this march he took troops all through georgia, burning all the buildings and living off of things they found in those buildings. They went all the way to Savanah, where the, after they captured it, they ofered it to Lincon as a "Christmas Present."Added to timeline:
