3h 10min, apr 5, 1559 y - Queen Elizabeth I and the Anglican Church
Description:
Queen Elizabeth was significant because she eased the tension between Catholics and Protestants in Europe. Elizabeth founded a state church that appeased the needs of both Catholics and Protestants. She did this by allowing sermons to be delivered in English for the Protestants and to appease the Catholics, she incorporated many Catholic service traditions into the sermons and rich robes were worn. By doing this Elizabeth eased the tension between the two religious groups.
