Description:

The Secretary of War under Pres. Franklin Pierce until he became the President of the confederacy during the civil war. Davis was known for his inadequate strategic planning, such as telling Lee to invade the North whilst they were already being pressured. After the Civil War, he was imprisoned on account of treason but was not tried in the court of law.
