aug 18, 1920 - 19th Amendment

Description:

The 19th Amendment states that the right to vote, “shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.” This amendment culminated the Women’s Suffrage movement, which fought for voting rights for women. While this amendment was a huge milestone, women continued to be stereotyped and discriminated against in society and the workforce. To this day, the fight for women’s rights has not ceased.
