mar 15, 1913 - Ernest Rutherford

Description:

He grew up in New Zealand and earned many scholarships for schooling. He completed lots of math and science courses and was working with professors on research. Rutherford completed experiments from 1908 to 1913 by firing alpha particles at gold foil. He found that the center of the atom is very dense from the alpha rays bouncing off. Believing that Thomson's theory with the cathode ray tubes was real, he concluded that the electrons circle the nucleus which he discovered.
