Description:
After the failure of the Estates General to solve the food shortage mostly due to the unequal representation of the people the French grow angry. Soon a riot outside the Bastille began because the Bastille had grown to become the symbol of Bourbon oppression in Paris. Soon the Parisians became violent, the garrison was able to hold back the attacking Parisians soon so many people were outside they viewed the protection as hopeless and raised the white flag of surrender. The commander was to be arrested and tried by the revolutionary council but was pulled away and lynched by the mob.
