jan 1, 1486 - Sandro Botticelli Painted Birth of Venus
Description:
Sandro Botticelli’s “Birth of Venus” is a visual depiction of Venus coming out of the ocean riding a seashell fully grown. Venus is coming out of the ocean because she was formed out of the cut up bits of Chronos when they mixed with sea foam. This is an important renaissance painting because no depiction of classical Greek mythology of its caliber had been created since the fall of Greece.
