jan 1, 1439 - Johann Gutenberg Invents the Printing Press
Description:
Johann Gutenberg’s printing press was important to European history because it spread renaissance ideas throughout Europe. The printing press worked by arranging letter blocks cottages with ink in and then using a crank to press the ink on to the paper. The printing press allowed books to be printed faster and cheaper. This helped spread ideas about art, religion, and government to many people who previously were unable know of these ideas.
