Description:
Approximately two years after its ratification, the Bill of Rights was added to the Constitution. Advocated strongly for by Thomas Jefferson and many of Democratic-Republicans, the Bill of Rights were a series of ten amendments that ensured various individual rights for the citizens of the United States. The Bill of Rights was designed to make sure the federal government didn’t become too powerful and infringe on the rights and liberties of its citizens.
